Several building structures exist that were built by humans that serve different unique purposes. From banks that store the legal tender used by a particular human community to cinemas where humans can go to relax and see a movie, structures built are not restricted to only serve as an abode for an individual, they can also be used for different human activities. It is a normal social ethic to be aware of the functionality of these types of special functioning buildings present in your environment. This will help you perform better as an active member of this community. It would be weird if you want to fix your hairdo and then you head for a coffee shop unless the shopkeeper offers that service, which is usually not the case.
Understanding the functions of buildings around you will help you survive as a modern man in any community you may find yourself in. However, in some cases, different unique buildings may look similar in their functionality and might be confusing for one another. It is wise to understand the differences these two similar structures hold because a mistake of one for the other might prove costly. One of these similarities is found between Taverns and Bars, which are two different establishments. Some parts of the world use the two words interchangeably while describing the same establishment, but others refer to two different functioning buildings when the two names are used.
In some areas of the world, the sole difference between the two is that they are both seen differently by the law. That is, one structure is licensed and the other is without a license. The two structures are similar in their basic goal, which is to serve paying customers with alcoholic drinks that are to be drunk on the premises and not taken away. These alcoholic drinks can come in the form of hard liquor, beer, wine, and various mixed drinks. In numerous cases, both bars and taverns have a signature feature in their establishment. A counter area exists that is literally referred to as a bar, it is where the person serving the drinks; a barman or a tavern keeper stays.
Opposite to this counter is where buyers stay to order and sometimes consume their alcoholic beverages. The bar serves as a communication platform which houses the customer with the barman, it is also a nice place to mix drinks plus store equipment and ingredients for serving a bar or tavern customer. Generally, a tavern is seen as an establishment that offers its patronizers drinks which are usually alcoholic, as well as food. Bars only offer their customers alcoholic drinks. People below the legal drinking age can still be allowed to enter a tavern since it is understood that it similarly serves as a restaurant, while bars are usually strictly off-limits to minors.
Bars are structured in a way to promote socialization among their customers. It has small spaces with small tables that increase the probability of crowding between customers. Taverns are in contrast to this, like restaurants they have well-defined tables and chairs, plus customers do not necessarily need to associate with each other.
